On November 18th,2014.Zhangjiajie world geological park management committee office received formal letter from the United Nations educational, scientific and cultural ecology and natural science earth science bureau. Correspondence decided to give Zhangjiajie world geopark four-year world geological park network membership (“Green Card”), and put forward nine suggestions to encourage Zhangjiajie world geological park management team to further enhance the space.
In this letter, The world geological parks put forward 9 suggestions to Zhangjiajie. It included more interpretive signs in the boundary of the park and the geological relics point distribution, Zhangjiajie world geological park’s official logo, the strong awareness of geological relics, and so on. It aims to contribute to protection of geological relics.
In 2004,Zhangjiajie became UNESCO’s world geological park. On August 3 to 5, The United Nations educational, scientific and cultural organization experts has carried on the strict demanding to Zhangjiajie world geological park “Big test”. In Canada this year on September 18th, the sixth session of UNESCO international geopark conference, Zhangjiajie world geological park pass “Big test” of the United Nations educational, scientific and cultural organization, to remove “Yellow Card”.
