Zhangjiajie Arial Port passed the inspection and acceptance organized by the General Administration of Customs in accordance with the requirements of the State Council. The port is now privileged to accommodate even more international aircrafts, which is of milestone significance.
Approved by the State Council, the port was founded in 1997 and opened to Hong Kong and Macao in April, 1999. In 2007, 1.96198 billion yuan was invested into the reconstruction and expansion of Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport .
Boasting of its unique tourism resource, growth of the city’s tourism industry will exert a positive impact on the tourism industries of the province and eventually the whole country.
The port’s wider availability to international aircrafts has not only removed the transportation bottle neck at the Wuling Mountain Economic Coordination Zone, but is also conducive to the balanced development of the Wuling Mountain area.
Zhangjiajie is one of the few cities that enjoy the benefits from Central China Rise Plan, China Western Development Strategy and the preferential policies for minority areas.
