Yongchuan Museum opened to the public on October 26th in Chongqing. The museum has the high expectations of all parts of society, which spent 9 years from laying the foundation to opening. Located in the south of Tea Mountain Bamboo Forest, the east of Shennv Lake Park and the west of Changzhou Ancient Town, the Yongchuan Museum is surrounded by mountains and waters with beautiful sceneries.
The museum is an imitation of the ancient buildings in Tang Dynasty. Over 1700 sets of movable cultural relics, about 5,000 pieces are collected in the museum. The exhibition area is about 9,000 square meters. It is a comprehensive museum ranked high in Chongqing for its large scale.
The history and culture hall on the second floor of Yongchuan Museum is divided into five sections, including ancient traces, simple customs of Han Dynasty, ancient cities in Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty, prosperities of Yongchuan, and revolutionary times. Many calligraphy art works represented by Chen Zizhuang are also displayed on the third floor of the museum, which show the culture of Yongchuan as the home of Chinese calligraphy.
