Track laying is finished at Chuanfangte Bridge, Hangzhou on Monday morning, from where new high-speed railway services will be operated to Huangshan – a World Heritage site in east China’s Anhui province. The new service will bring down journey the time to 1.5 hours from Hangzhou to Huangshan.
Construction on the 265-km line, which runs from Hangzhou, capital of east China’s Zhejiang province, to Huangshan of east China’s Anhui province, began in June 2014. The project is expected to be completed this October at a cost of 36.55 billion yuan ($5.78 billion). Upon completion, the railway will allow speed at 250 km/h.
Hangzhou-Huangshan high-speed line is scheduled to open in this October. After the official opening operation, it will run through a number of famous tourist attractions (Hangzhou city, Fuchun River, Qiandao Lake, Mt.Huangshan) and become a world-class gold tourism line.
