The National Tourism Administration plans to boost the application of smart travel in scenic spots of China, which allows tourists using smart phones to receive information of the place, detailed routes, dining hotspots, shopping hubs and hotels. Tourists may feel have a portable tour guide at their hand.
The capital city Beijing is one of the first trial cities. Beijing Tourism Development Committee announced that Beijing has been accelerating Wifi coverage, and 50 scenic spots in the city will provide self-guided tour services to tourists with smart phones by the end of September. Such terminals will be built in major subway stations, shopping malls and densely populated communities.
