Introduce of Madam Tussaud

Madame (1761-1850), formerly knew as Mary Grau Schulz, was born in Strasbourg, France. Madame was a distinguished French artist famous for manufacturing the wax figures. She was brought up with a doctor, Dr. Philip Cortez, to learn wax production skills. The wax figure of the French writer, Voltaire’s, is her best-known production. In 1835, when she was 74 years old, she established a permanent exhibition hall in London Baker Street.

Madame Voltaire created her first wax figure for Voltaire’s in 1777. And she also produced waxes for other famous people in that period of time, including Rousseau, Benjamin Franklin and so on. During the French Revolution, she was forced to make face models for those beheaded bodies. In 1802, Madame was in London, and later the British and French war sake that she could not return to France. Then Madame explored the Great Britain and Ireland with her waxworks. In 1835, she established the first permanent exhibition in London, Baker Street. One of the main attractions in Madame Tussauds is the Chamber of Horrors. This part of the exhibition included victims of the French Revolution, variety of killers and criminal’s image in the new system.
