To celebrate the 2018 Culture and Natural Heritage Day, Pingyao, a city in Shanxi province, opened the Photography and Video Exhibition from June 7th to June 9th. With the theme "memory, life, communication", the exhibition featured 30 documentaries on culture and natural heritage protection and several academic forums.
The exhibition was opened under the guidance of Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and was co-organized by the Center for Ethnic and Folk Literature and Art Development, and the National Library. It was also undertaken by Shanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center and Government of Pingyao City.
Li Song, director of the exhibition, said that "We hope more people can participate in recording our culture heritage and help to preserve a culture memory of our nation”. The exhibition can help enhance people's cultural confidence and cultural consciousness, and mobilize the whole society to participate in the intangible cultural heritage protections as well.
Pingyao is a city in Shanxi, whose old town is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Being an embodiment of China's history and harmony, Pingyao is the perfect place for a deep insight of China.
