After arduous efforts for five years, the newly-built Hunan Museum was finally open to the public at 1:00 PM, November 29, 2017. The museum will be in trial operation during the first three months after its opening. The exhibition area has been expanded from 6,000 sqm to 27,000-odd sqm. It is functioned as exhibition areas for two permanent exhibitions, three themed exhibitions, and two special exhibitions; as areas for cultural relics protection, including storeroom and laboratory; and as place like cultural creative center, service center, and dining room.
