China’s top economic planner has approved a high-speed railway project that will connect Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and will be completed by 2020. This high-speed railway is expected to be 148.7km long, with a total investment of $6.58 billion. The train will travel up to 350 km per hour and stop at eight stations including Tongzhou district in Beijing, Langfang, Baoding in Tianjin, Tangshan in Hebei, and so on.
By the end of 2017, majority of Beijing government agencies will move from crowded downtown to Tongzhou district. Also, Tangshan is a vibrant industrial city. The infrastructures connectivity in these neighboring cities will benefit to regional economic growth, make full use of tourist resources, and boost the Bejing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development plan.
