Domestic air route from Beijing to Zhangye (a city in Northwest Gansu Province) will be opened from the beginning of December, which is the second flight arriving at Zhangye Airport. Carried by Airbus 320 aircraft, it is also the first flight operated by large passenger aircraft in the city.
The flight is operated by China Eastern Airlines and scheduled for regular services twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Flight MU2416 departs form Beijing on 17:55 and arrives in Zhangye four hours later after a brief stopover in Lanzhou (the capital of Gansu Province). Passengers could get back to Lanzhou through the return flight and transfer to all parts of the country.
Zhangye is an historical and cultural city located in Northwest Gansu Province. It has long been considered an important section of the Silk Road along with Dunhuang and Wuwei. Zhangye is also known for its majestic Danxia landform, which is the most amazing artwork of nature.
