Three direct flights per week will be operated by Sichuan Airlines between Auckland and Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Chengdu, as a historical city with abundant tourist attractions and is also the home to panda, attracts millions of tourists around the world. The new route also reflects the increasing amount of trade and tourism between the two countries.
Sichuan Airlines’ expansion of international connectivity allows people to get to and from New Zealand with greater ease. Meanwhile, it raises the number of airlines from 5 to 6 now operating from China to New Zealand.
