According to the Air China, a new direct flight will be launched to public since April 2nd. The flight will link Chengdu, capital of China's southwest Sichuan Province and London, the capital of Britain. It is scheduled to fly on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The new air route will be operated by A330 aircraft of Air China. The flight CA 423 will leave Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport at 12:25 Beijing time. It will arrive in London Heathrow International Airport at 16:45 local time. The total flight time is about 11.5 hours. The return flight CA 424 will depart from London at 22:00 local time and will arrive in Chengdu at 15:25 (+1) Beijing time.
Chengdu is famous for the home of cute giant pandas. The history of Chengdu can be traced back 2,400 years, when the first emperor built his capital here and named the city. Through thousands of years its original name has been kept. The position as the capital and the significant center of politics, commerce and military of the Sichuan area has remained unchanged.
