Luoyang Museum of Ancient Tombs over an area of nearly 30,000 square meters and the construction area comes to 7,600 square meters. The museum consists of two parts – one is on the ground and the other is underground. Twenty-three ancient tombs from the Western Han to the Northern Song have been restored. A visit to the museum will help you a good understanding of the typical tombs in past dynasties.
On the ground is the Han-style arch, the entrance hall and two exhibition halls respectively on the east and west. In the eastern hall, models of tombs from the primitive society to the Zhou Dynasty (11th century -256BC), restored funerary objects, and funeral rituals are on display. The western part houses the exhibition halls, in which excavated artifacts and relics are displayed.   The underground exhibition hall is a platform to tell visitor the past of this city. Cultural relics from Han to Song Dynasties are displayed in front of people. Besides the hall of cultural relics, artworks in the ancient time also can be found in a exhibition hall. These artworks can be dated back to the Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD) and facsimiles of murals on the tomb chambers.
