"Our Dragon Boat Festival-Qu Yuan Cup" Dragon Boat Race & the 3rd China Wuling Mountain (Yuanling) Ecological Tea Cultural Tourism Festival was unveiled in Yuanling Dragon Boat Cultural Square on May 20. This is Hunan's first mass dragon boat race, attracting about 100,000 visitors and merchants from home and abroad.
The race was held in four cities including Changsha, Yuanling, Miluo and Zixing. 16 teams from Huaihua, Changde, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture and Zhangjiajie competed in the boat race in Yuanling County. The top three teams from each area were eligible to participate in the final race of the province.
The standard dragon boat race was followed by a traditional dragon boat show in Yuanling County. 16 teams consisting of 22 members each commenced their first round of race along 500-meter open water route, marking the start of the provincial mass dragon boat race.
