Hunan Highway Toll-free Dates Set During Spring Festival

China's highways will implement toll-free policy for passenger cars during the upcoming Spring Festival from 0:00 on Jan. 27 to 24:00 on Feb. 2, 2017 when most Chinese will go home for the Spring Festival and return to work. Passenger cars with seven seats or less and motorcycles will get a free pass through toll roads, bridges and tunnels during the Spring Festival holiday.

The Spring Festival travel rush this year will last for 40 days, starting from Jan. 13 and ending on Feb. 21. Up to 90.49 million trips are expected to be made via highways, a year-on-year increase of 17%.

The following highway sections and toll stations will see the most traffic congestion during the Spring Festival travel rush 2017, including Shaoyang-Huaihua Section of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and Shanghai-Kunming Expressway, Changsha-Changde Section of Changsha-Zhangjiajie Highway, Yongzhou-Shaoyang Section of Erenhot-Guangzhou Highway, Changsha Section of Changsha-Shaoshan-Loudi Highway, Jishou-Huaihua Section of Baotou-Maoming Highway, and toll stations in Xiaotang, Yueyang, Yanglousi, Jinyushi, Nanfeng'ou, Chengtoushan, Baocheng and Chadong.
