The Hunan Economic and Trade Delegation composed of several provincial CPPCC Committee members participated in a cultural and art exchange at the Warsaw Cultural Center, Poland, on May 8, 2017.
CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee Chairwoman Li Weiwei; Chinese Embassy Economic and Commercial Counselor Liu Lijuan; Cultural Counselor Cai Lian; Polish-Chinese Parliamentary Group Vice-Chairman Grzegorz Czelej; and, some Polish cultural and art personages attended.
The host was CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee member and well-known Hunan TV personality Wang Han.
Li Weiwei noted, “Hunan boasts distinctive cultural characteristics, such as painting and calligraphy, music, embroidery, and tea and cuisine.” She said “it has flourishing broadcasts and TV shows, press and publications, and cultural creations. Hunan expects to promote economic and trade cooperation, and educational and technological communication through cultural exchange.” Her visit was to promote Hunan-Poland economic and cultural exchange, and advance the Poland-China Industrial Park project undertaken by Hunan enterprises.
Vice Chairman Czelej recounted his deep impressions of China during his several visits. He hoped that, within the “Belt and Road” Initiative framework, China and Poland will strengthen economic, trade, cultural, and scientific and technological exchanges.
A Polish famous pianist, professor Maria of the Frideric Chopin University of Music played Chopin’s piano sonata. Hunanese painter Peng Hang’s works were on display.
