Hong Kong Ocean Park was built by the Hong Kong Jocky Club and lies between Aberdeen and Repulse Bay. It is one of the largest, and also one of the top 10 themed oceanaria parks in the world. It occupies 170 hilly acres overlooking the sea.
Opened in January, 1977, Ocean Park is Hong Kong's unique local park with a heritage of delivering family fun and fond memories. It was chosen by Hong Kong citizens as their No.1 favorite scenic spot in Hong Kong in 2005. Recently, it is named one of the '10 Most Popular Amusement Parks in the World' by Forbes.com.

Highlights in Ocean Park Hong Kong
The whole park covers more than 915,000 square meters. Ocean Park is composed of two main scenic areas: the Waterfront and the Summit, which are connected by the Cable Car and Ocean Express funicular train. Further more, the two areas can be further divided into eight different attraction zones: Marine World, Polar Adventur, Thrill Mountain, Adventure Land and the Rainforest in The Summit area, Aqua City, Amazing Asian Animals and Whiskers Harbou in the Waterfront area.

【Adventure Land】
Riding the steel Mine Train roller coaster perched on the edge of a cliff to have a overlooking of Aberdeen Harbour. Or take a 20 metres high Space Wheel will be thrilling.
【Thrill Mountain】
Thrill Mountain is a carnival-themed area, offering five rides, eight booth games, food and beverages as well as specially designed merchandise offerings. Hair Raiser, Whirly Bird, Bumper Blaster, Rev Booster, The Flash are all stimulating projects to take.
【Polar Adventure】
Polar Adventure features the North Pole Encounter, South Pole Spectacular and Arctic Fox Den, as well as a gift shop and the new Arctic Blast roller coaster. Animals include king penguins, gentoo penguins, southern rockhopper penguins, spotted seals, pacific walruses, Steller sea lions, Arctic foxes and snowy owls. The Tuxedos Restaurant offers view over the penguins.
【The Rainforest】
Dozens of avian, terrestrial and aquatic animals living in The Rainforest buttress roots accompany guests on their immersive exploration of biodiversity. Hop aboard a raft and become immersed in the exotic sounds of a tropical rainforest. On this journey, you’ll encounter some of the most fascinating animals in the world! Catch the antics of the world’s smallest monkey - the Pygmy Marmoset; or see weirdly wonderful critters, including the world’s largest rodent - the Capybara, and Kinkajou, as well as the world’s smallest toucan - the Green Aracari.
【Amazing Asian Animals】
In Amazing Asian Animals exhibit, you can visit some of rarest animals in Asia. Take an interactive journey of discovery at the Giant Panda Adventure where you’ll get to know some of Asia's most precious native animals, including giant pandas, red pandas, Chinese giant salamanders and Chinese alligators. Here houses two rare giant pandas Ying Ying and Le Le. You can also visit Panda Village to watch the Asian small-clawed otters and a variety of Asian birdlife in a woodland setting, or to Gator Marsh to see endangered Chinese alligators from Yangtze River, grass carps and other Asian fishes.
【Aqua City】
Aqua City features a world-class Grand Aquarium with the world's largest aquarium dome at 5.5m in diameter and a 13m wide acrylic viewing panel. It also features the world's first and only 360° water screen show Symbio!. Aqua City also offers various dining and shopping options. The Lakeside Snacks Food Cart is located at the outdoor setting of the Lagoon. Neptune's Restaurant is Hong Kong's first and only fine dining destination in an aquarium setting, while the Aqua City Bakery serves Hong Kong-style pastries. Aqua City offers more than 20,000 themed gifts and souvenir items in the retail space.

Q: How to get there?
A: Public transportation, via bus, is available to Ocean Park. Just get off the bus after going through the Aberdeen Tunnel and it's a short walk to the Park. Bus 629 from Central Pier 7 or from MTR Admiralty Station, Exit B and alight at the park.
Q: How long do I need to spend in Ocean Park?
A: It is a very large theme park that if you want to visit most of the major attractions, we recommend you to prepare a whole day. Also don’t forget the time that you need to wait in line.
Q: Are there restaurants in Ocean Park?
A: Similar to Disneyland, bringing your own food and drink to Ocean Park is not allowed. There are many restaurants and food kiosks inside Ocean Park. Please be aware that the prices in restaurants are much higher than the market prices. For details you can refer to our article
