Foreign Journalists’ “Time Travel” in Taohuayuan

On November 15, the interview group of the eight “Belt and Road” countries visited the “Fairyland on earth” in Changde.

“A quiet, comfortable, and historical place – I seem to experience a time travel to ancient China more than a thousand years ago”, said Dubai China Arab TV (CATV) journalist Xin Yue (Chinese name) when she toured in Taohuayuan Scenic Area, Changde.

The journalists visited the newly-built Taohuayuan History and Cultural Discovery Hall. The Indonesian Antara News journalist inquired the tour guide about the Wuling legends and Tao Yuanming’s story, and was curious about Tao’s poetry and his charm to Chinese people.

The Philippine Daily Tribune journalist was enchanted in the “fishing village in sunset” scenic spot, and felt inspired to create a poem for the antique buildings and beautiful scenery here.

When they arrived at the “Qin people’s village”, they were invited to participate in a traditional “bamboo stump dance”, and enjoyed the cheerful moment.

The harmony of nature and people, and profound history and culture impressed the journalists deeply. “Though missing the peach blossoms, I still see the beautiful scenery and feel the happy life described in poetry,” the Indonesian Kompas journalist said. The essay “Peach Blossom Land” presents ancient people’s yearn for a peaceful life, and also depicts an ideal place even for today’s urban inhabitants.
