According to the Haikou Meilan International Airport, a direct air route has been resumed between Haikou, the capital city in southern China's Hainan Province and Seoul, capital of Republic of Korea. After a six-month hiatus caused by scheduling conflicts, the air route was resumed on September 20th.
The flight is operated by Jeju Air of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The flight - 7C8607 departs from Seoul at 20:45 p.m. local time every Wednesday and Saturday. It arrives at Haikou Meilan International Airport at 01:25 a.m. Beijing time. The return flight - 7C8608 departs from Haikou every Thursday and Sunday at 02:25 a.m. Beijing time. The arrival time in Seoul is 08:35 a.m. local time.
Besides the flight between Haikou and Seoul, Hainan has three other direct flights with Korea, linking Sanya with Seoul, Busan and Taegu. Haikou, known as the 'Coconut City', features beautiful sunshine, crystal water and soft sand. It is the provincial administrative center of Hainan. Nowadays, Haikou has evolved from a simple sightseeing city to an attractive seaside resort and business center.
