An exhibition of contemporary Chinese embroidery artworks sponsored by the Chinese National Academy of Arts is being held at Chinese Museum of Women and Children in Beijing. The exhibition will be held from Nov 18th to Nov 28th.
The selected exhibits are best artworks of over 100 prominent artists, and four major regional styles of Chinese embroidery can be found in the exhibition – Su Xiu (from Jiangsu Province’s Suzhou), Xiang Xiu (from Hunan Province), Yue Xiu (from Guangdong Province) and Shu Xiu (from Sichuan Province).
Chinese embroidery is a kind of traditional Chinese arts or crafts which is well-known all over the world. With its long history and classic elegance, Chinese embroidery has become a carrier of national culture.
