China has moved to lower ticket prices at 1,400 scenic spots around the country during the coming week-long National Day holiday from October 1 to 7. The holiday is a prime opportunity for people in China to visit family or tourist attractions.
According to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), local price authorities have been urged to cuts averaging price about 20 percent. The commission has ordered local authorities to unveil discount plans before October 1 and to closely supervise implementation of those plans at scenic spots. The move aims to create a sound market environment and lower costs for tourists.
