China Eastern first initiated a flight service connecting Shanghai, Xi’an and Shigatse in southwest China’s Tibet on July 30.
The new Shanghai-Xian-Shigatse flight is scheduled to fly every Thursday and Sunday. The flight MU2281 plans to take off from Shanghai at 08:20 and land in Shigatse at 15:55 after a short stay in Xi’an. The return flight MU2282 will leave Shigatse at 16:35 and arrive at Shanghai at 23:15.
Shigatse, as the traditional capital of the central Tsang region, is now the second-largest city in Tibet. The city attracts tourists from all over the world with a distinctive Tibetan culture and the famous sight – Tashilhunpo Monastery.
