Gaochang Ancient City located at the east of Turpan. The city was actually founded a few hundred years earlier than that, and gradually became known as a trading post on the Silk Road.

The Desert Bontanical Garden is located 10 km southeast of Turpan City, which is the largest botanical garden in China built on a bottomland

Aiding Lake is an inland saltwater lake located in Qia Tekale County about 50km north of Turpan City in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region
