According to Anhui Civil Aviation Airport Group, Huangshan Airport will open Huangshan - Hong Kong charter flights on February 3rd (Chinese Lunar New Year's Day) and February 7th (the fifth day of the first lunar month) in 2011.
On these two days, the flights will depart from Huangshan Airport at 3:20 pm and arrive at Hong Kong at 4:50 pm; the return flights will depart from Hong Kong at 5:50 pm and arrive at Huangshan at 7:20 pm.
Huangshan, a granite massif consisting of 36 separate peaks and rising above 1,800 m, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Frequently shrouded in mist, the jagged peaks create a spectacular landscape of great interest to tourists.
In order to attract more travelers from home, so far Huangshan Airport has opened 21 domestic air routes connecting Huangshan and other cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, Xi’an, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Hefei etc.. It also plans to open regular direct flights between Huangshan and Hong Kong in summer or autumn next year. These flights will bring more convenience to tourists in Hong Kong.
