Beijing opened Hungarian Contemporary Art Exhibition

The Hungarian Contemporary Art Exhibition opened on June 17th at the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) in Beijing. Held by the Hungarian Embassy in China, the Beijing Hungarian Cultural Institute, and the NAMOC, the exhibition will last until July 20th.

The art exhibition displayed 99 paintings and 24 sculptures. The paintings were showed to people through various ways of media, such as oil painting and screen painting. These artworks include various styles, such as pop art, expressionism, abstractionism and realism. Some of them are the masterpieces of Hungarian contemporary art from the late 20th century to the early 21st century.

Hungarian traditional art work is deeply influenced by the artistic traditions in Central and Eastern Europe. After the 1960s, a young generation of Hungarian artists emerged in large numbers. They were bold and innovative, broke through traditions and sought new ways to express their ideas. The art exhibition aims to display the contemporary art landscape of Hungary.

In 2015, Hungary became the first European country joining the Belt and Road Initiative, which helps build the bilateral relations between China and Hungary. The Hungarian Contemporary Art Exhibition is the important cultural exchanges project between China and Hungary. The National Art Museum of China provides an important window for China to promote the communications between different cultures.
