The 2014 Changsha Tourism Working Conference, themed “Building Tourism Industry with Revenue Hitting 100 Billion Yuan and Promoting Transformation and Upgradation via Innovation”, was held on the afternoon of March 5.
According to statistics, the number of visitors in Changsha exceeded 96.02 million in 2013, bringing in tourism revenue of 100.63 trillion yuan, up by 18.72% and 28.5% respectively. Changsha’s tourism industry has officially become one of industrial clusters with a capital of 100 billion yuan.
This year Changsha plans to exert great efforts in vigorously promoting project exploitation, improving tourism brands, propelling industrial integration, and pushing forward tourist consumption. In addition, priority will be given to development of featured landscape streets including Ding Wangtai, Pozi Street, Taiping Street and Yuren MaTou (Fisherman's Wharf), as well as featured tourist villages including Guanshan Village, Bancang Town and Caitaoyuan Village.

The scenic spot in the hometown of Liu Shaoqi, approved as a 5A-level national scenic area in 2013, has become a highlight in construction of Changsha’s classic tourism areas.
